Positivity List Exercise Instructions

  1. Create a list of 3 or 4 things that make you smile or laugh
  2. Post the list in a place where you will see it every day
  3. Make a point of reading the list at least twice each day, such as in the morning and evening
  4. Make a point of doing at least one of the things on your list at least once each week – more is better!
List Suggestions

In the event that you’re struggling to find the required three or four things that make you smile or laugh, the following list should help. Things that might make you smile or laugh:

  • Being with family and friends.
  • Playing with a pet.
  • Singing outloud to a happy song.
  • Dancing around the living room.
  • Watching a funny movie.
  • Reading jokes on the Internet.
  • Playing video games alone.
  • Playing board, card, or other games with friends.
  • Going to the park, playing frisbee, or flying a kite.
  • Skipping through the house.
  • Celebrating the simple pleasures in life.
  • Hugs and kisses to and from loved ones.
  • Tickling someone and/or being tickled.
  • Pillow fights.
  • Thinking of (fill in the blank).
